Ranger at Large Alert:

Crossing fingers people are able to, but I will be hosting a prequel to my incoming Guardians of Rool Campaign around the week of Thanksgiving. Likely the 25th on a Tuesday around 5:30pm Eastern [New Yorker here]. I will have a thread in the weeks to come regarding the actual campaign, but for this if interested feel free to bring anyone.

Rool won't be ranger focused so making an early bird character may not be advised as this is a decent rewind. That is all

I'm in, but 5:30 ET may be tough for most people (I know it is for me) 6pm ET is about the earliest I can log in after work.

Perhaps the Defender of Stahlheim game has gotten me spoiled with the timing.  Will see where others go, but if anything I'll warrant that meager change of time

If I am able with Work, I would love to play.  I have a great many ideas of new characters, so that wont be a problem.

Hey Ruben,

Do you want the characters to be Goblinesh to fit in with the setting?

Joe Cirillo

Or I'll just run a bit late, no biggie.

For this prequel ranger at large session it can be anything as it will be ranger related to a degree. For the campaign itself I am running in the future well... I will go the old school route of dedicating a g+ session on character creation most likely. Goblinesh would fit the setting best, but it being non rangers based campaign  I find whoever join will need to sum up reasons why they are in the area if not from a gather.

Things should still be rolling smoothly for the Campaign around 6PM Eastern for this Tuesday.

Excellent!  Now... Aevakaar who crashed at the gather and was nursed back to health, or Goblin.....

Ruben:  Zathras the Goblin sorceror is now made up and posted in Rangers at Large (since I didn't see a way to make a character in defenders of Rool) for your perusal.

Keep in mind it's just a ranger at large event, not the actual campaign starting. Not expecting the Rool gather characters as it will be an adventure the area

faradhii
faradhii's picture

Ah, well in that case you'll have to let me know if Ash or Chumley are acceptable.  I only have those 2 (and Zathras as a new toon).

I will definitely try to be there. Though, I will be late. My work generally runs at least until 5:30 PM. But, I'll do my best.

Would it be cool to throw in my not-Goblinesh-but-very-comfortable-around-them Ranger Currently at Large?  I need to get back into actually RPing and not just plotting y'all's demises!

Keith Bailey

This is something he reminded me about yesterday. So I am sure he would be glad to have you join in..

Everyone is welcomed, we are simply on some roadtrip to that destination. Once again jealous of your art skills and great indepth backstory.

faradhii : If Rich accepts as this is starting in 33rd Raining Leaves, I am alright with it.

Hoped everyone had fun, it was a quite the adventure.

Edit: Can only have faith I improve and one thing. Had more time been allotted, that Flesh Render would had fused with the ghoul bodies piled up to become some special Flesh Golem.

It was fine, you do need to work on your npc tough talking though... Lol kidding of course but I was totally in character yelling at them.

The horde is never bad, especially if you make a fun scenario out of it.  Tends to work wonders like what I put you guys through. Doesn't help with very large groups however.

When is the jal game?

howardrbrandon-RF

Jal game?

Someone help me here. Loreli is Wed, Stahlheim is Sat. Echer'Naught every other Monday. Do we have any other day conflicts? Looking like Rangers at Large would be best Tues or Thurs.

Can I get a ruling?

Rool, will likely be one of those too.. But I think Rangers at large would fit one of those, and Rool could be the other when he gets it ready. imho

Seeing Thursday as the likely day for mine. Til I start its not too much of a factor if you wanted to rn something around the Holidays.

faradhii
faradhii's picture

I thought you were running Tuesday's Ruben?  If it's Thursday I'll have to bow out.  The wife was generous enough to allow me to move date night from Wed. to Thurs. for Lorelei.  Two moves would not go over well!!  Not at all!!  :)  (don't let that hold you back unless you don't care either way, you definitely have enough peeps without me!!  :)  )

Murvoth

Really depends on people opinion really, if Tuesday is easier I would opt for that.  Whatever is helpful for I hold no true preference on the matter.  So use to the prospect of Howard's ranger at large on that day and with Saturdays up in the air it comes down to who is able. Presuming no one else has a favored day, I would consider that day instead. More or less trying to see which is better.

Ladies & Gents,

I have a line on a new mission. Tentative game night is Thursday the 18th, 7 PM kick off. This is conjunction with another game and will be entirely special operations branch. Since we are beginning in a city already under enemy control...all new PCs.

These are Black Lanterns, so no Priests or Druids. Nothing that would show up on Magical sweeps. You may go dark with the character...as long as you understand these are heroes...just not the most typical heroes.

And, because of "Global XP" and idea we are till working kinks, for any player who has played in a previous J&L game under me, start your new...secret agent...character at 5 XP.

Anyone interested, shoot me a msg here, FB or email. I would like to know character concepts going in.

This is not in stone, but I'll have final details soon.

As this is in Prelacy territory, I would keep in mind to be selective in your choice of race. Any non-human will be highly restricted in what part they can have in the mission.

Ogres are right out.

Intriguing!  What time zone is 7p?

faradhii

If Sorcery is OK (you didn't list it in "bad magic") then I'll take Zathras, character is already made in Rangers at Large.  Goblin slave race is all good.

You are NOT the one......

Sorcery would be just as bad as the other magics, also in the Prelacy nearly anyone nonhuman would be executed quickly.  Dwarves MIGHT be tolerated in certain areas, but they don't exactly like Camoneres.

Generally in the Prelacy anyone nonhuman and any magic-users other than Adept or Alchemist is gonna have a serious, serious disadvantage.

howardrbrandon-RF
howardrbrandon-RF's picture

Yeh, to operate freely, anything not "human-looking" will have serious issues. The only way a Goblinesh will be possible is part of the underground, but again, your roll would be severely restricted as you would not be able to travel surface streets.

Sorcerery would be difficult to hide. Adepts, on the other hand, would be ideal. Alchemists would be very useful. What Sooz said.

Though, as a Sorcerer, assuming you stay underground and avoid all surface streets you could operate, though any overt use of Sorcery would attract attention.

As far as 7PM EST. :)

I believe he wanted to tryout the Half-blood edge for his goblin, in that case scenario where he is part human would the same rules apply for execution or in the guise of say a servant or something lowly could they remain?

Sooz - RF
Sooz - RF's picture

It'd essentially be the same as someone being half-demon during the Inquisition, or half Jewish in Nazi Germany: his only real hope for survival would be keeping it a secret.

The Prelacy believe that ALL magic (except Arcmancy and, at some levels, the Way) and ALL nonhumans (except Builders and possibly Dwarves) are demonic.  To your average Camoner, keeping even a half-demon around would be like keeping a Minotaur or Ratzin around: yeah, they're not 100% demon, but they're never going to be NOT a demon, so it's a terrible idea and they're better off dead.

It's a viable character idea, but any player going for a nonhuman must absolutely be prepared for the severe societal limitations that come along as baggage, because the Prelacy does not mess around!

faradhii

Gotcha, human something or other it is!  :)

Ladies and Gentlemen,

I am happy to FINALLY be able to announce that the Echer'Naught Accords will occure on Roll20 this coming Thursday 29th. Let me be clear that this is a political event and a celebration. There will a great deal of roleplay and a chance for the leaders of Stahlheim and Eon'Voltuh to really shine. (Sadly, no bloody combat, but I am hoping to host competitive games...so there is that.)

I would like to personally invite Shayline to the event due to her contributions and position. This will also be a  good opportunity for Iconic characters to gather. I hope that this will be one of the momentous events in Shaintar and a great close to 3123.

In game, we are looking at White River 1-3, so check with your GMs.

.....Murvoth not personally invited? How rude he was the one man army[ Overconfidence]. Considering the adventure we just went through, like to think its completely possible for the orc to make an appearance as Saturday we traveled with the clan chief.  Time wise assuming 7pm unless that has change.
