Sandstorms in the Eternal Desert

As the summer grows hotter, intense sandstorms begin to scour the desert. At first, they seem the result of a particularly hot summer, they quickly become frequent enough to interupt travel throughout the desert. First, smaller communities find themselves cut off as travel across the sands becomes too dangerous. Eventually, even the larger cities, too, become trapped by nigh impenatrable walls of scouring sand and howling winds.
